Directions

From 95 South:

Take exit 84 South for New London Waterfront District. At second light, go left onto Gov. Winthrop Blvd. Go straight over RR tracks and bear right to the ferry entrance.

From 95 North:

Take exit 83 for New London Waterfront District. At third light, go left onto Gov. Winthrop Blvd. Go straight over RR tracks and bear right to the ferry entrance.

From 395 South:

Take exit 5 to Rte. 32. After the Coast Guard Academy, go left at second light onto Gov. Winthrop Blvd. Go straight over RR tracks and bear right to the ferry entrance.

From Hartford

Take Rte. 91 South to Rte. 9 South to 95 North (see 95 North above).

Alt. Route from Hartford

Rt. 2 East to Rt. 11 South to Exit 4. Left onto Rt. 82, right onto Rt. 85 to Rt. 95 North (see 95 North above).

Parking

Limited on site parking is available at $15.00 per calendar day at the New London ferry terminal, first come first served. Additional parking is available at the Water Street Parking Garage in New London, directly across the street from the ferry terminal. Highways:

The New London ferry terminal offers convenient access to all of the major New England interstate highways such as I-95, I-395, I-91, and I-93.

Trains:

At the terminal is New London's Multi-Modal Transportation Center offering Amtrak rail service and commuter trains. Cross Sound Ferry is recognized by Amtrak as an official intermodal passenger carrier for the rail service. Amtrak's phone number is (800) 872-7245. Also at the New London terminal is the Shore Line East commuter rail service running weekday rush hours between New London and New Haven.

Connecting Ferries

From the Transportation Center you can make your connection to Fisher's Island, NY and seasonally to Block Island, RI.

Bus Service:

South East Area Transit (SEAT) bus service can be reached at (860) 886-2631. They have frequent runs to Crystal Mall, Olde Mistick Village and Mystic Aquarium as well as to the casinos. Greyhound Bus service at 800-231-2222 also is located in the New London Transportation Center.

From The West:

Take L.I.Expressway (I-495) East to Exit 71.Take left at end of exit ramp onto Edwards Ave. Follow 3.8 miles to Sound Ave. Make right turn onto Sound Ave. Follow approximately 34 miles (Sound Ave. becomes Rte. 48 which then becomes Rte. 25). Ferry is located at end of Rte. 25.

From The South Fork:

Follow routes to Sag Harbor. Take Rte. 114 North to Rte. 25 East in Greenport via the Shelter Island Ferries. Follow Rte. 25 East to the end in Orient Point. NOTE: Vehicles with reservations cannot use this route for the 7:00 A.M. departure from Orient Point.

Alternate Route:

Rte. 27 West to Rte. 24 West to Rte. 105 North to Rte. 25 East to the end in Orient Point.

Parking

Free parking is available on site at the Orient Point ferry terminal on a first come first served basis. It is strongly recommended that you arrive early in order to obtain a spot.
